Thank you for allowing me to speak to the city council. My name is
Susanne Tirona and I live in Columbus Square at the Tustin Legacy
across the street from the north blimp hangar site.
Our community has serious concerns about the proposed commercial
project at the blimp hangar site.
When we moved into Columbus Square, we were led to believe that
the county and city of Tustin intended to develop a park on this hangar
site.
This proposal is a massive commercial project that, according to OC
Register includes:
Three hotels, restaurants, retail stores, apartments, a stadium, 18
sports fields, 12 baseball diamonds, sports training and medical center,
with a sports research lab and center for sports medicine, and an
"enormous" field house.
Our concerns are:
1. A large increase in traffic volume
2. Overflow parking into our neighborhood
3. Noise pollution
4. Possible increase in crime due to gangs and thieves
5. Such proximity of a large commercial development to our
homes may have a negative impact on the value of our homes
Although we don't know the specific details of this project, we object to
this commercial development so close to our quiet, residential
neighborhood.
