TO:
WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION
SUBJECT: FIRST STREET/TUSTIN AVENUE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS -
STATUS REPORT
At the last City Council meeting, a concern was raised about the residual
effect of the First Street/Tustin Avenue intersection and traffic signal
improvements as they relate to the Revere House.
Approximately two months ago, Mr. Fred Werder of the Reverse House met
with staff and at that time the general scope of the project was outlined
to Mr. Werder. In mid-December 1988, a letter was sent to Mr. Werder
outlining the need for the Revere House· to relocate their sign which
currently encroaches within the existing public right-of-way.
As the plan preparation for the project progresses, staff will provide a
suggested access and on-site circulation plan for Mr. Werder's review. A
definite construction date has not yet been determined. Once
construction drawings have been reviewed and finalized,, a construction
date will be set and forwarded to the Revere House for their comment.
These intersection improvement plans will not include any impacts along
the easterly edge of the Revere House property caused by the I-5/Rte 55
interchange and freeway widening projects.
