HUSTON, CITY MANAGER POLICE DEPARTMENT · PROCLAMATION ~ OFFICER RON FRAZIER AND CANINE PARTNER GUNDO Recommenda C i on The City Council, at its meeting of February 6, 1989, show its support of the Police Canine Program by issuing a proclamation recognizing Officer Ron Frazier and his canine partner, "Gundo", upon their retirement from the Canine Program. Background Gundo was purchased iq February 1985 when he was five years old. Given Gundo's age and condition, the Police DepartmenT determined that his value had completely depreciated and he was retired. The City Council previously authorized the transfer of ownership of Gundo to Officer Frazier. That transfer became effective January 7, 1989, th~ date of Gundo's retirement. Officer Frazier and Canine Gundo will attend the City Council's meeting of February 6, 1989, to accept the proclamation. Acting Operations Division Commander Lieutenant Chuck Crane, Canine Coordinator Sergeant Mark Bergquist, members of the press, and I will also be present. Additionally, representatives of the Tustin Police Officers' Association will attend the meeting to present a plaque to Officer Frazier and Canine Gundo for a "job well done.".
