HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 13 SURPLUS SCRAP 02-06-89TO: FROM: SUBJECT: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/FIELD SERVICES SURPLUS SCRAP METALS RECOMMENDATION: Request that the City Council at their regular meeting of February 6, 1989, receive and file notice of the sale of surplus metals as provided for in Ordinance 871. BACKGROUND: On October 19, 1988, City Council authorized .the Public Works Department to declare s~rap metals surplus, and not required for public use and disPose of metals in accordance with Ordinance 871. On January 10, 1989, the Water Department disposed of 1,256 pounds of brass and received a price of $0.39 per pound ($490.00), from Michaels Metals, Santa Ana, California. The money was credited against Account No. 600-400-9999-9650-60040 which is a Capital Fire Hydrant replacement account.
