HomeMy WebLinkAboutNB 2 ST LIGHT CONDUIT 02-21-89,;~ ?':~ ~ '- /~\ NEW BUSINESS DATE: ~B~g~ ~ ~ ~989 TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUSJ£OT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE INSTALLATION OF STREET LIGHT CONDUIT AT GLENARBOR AVENUE AND HOLLYHOCK AVENUE (FILE #2151) RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council at their meeting of February 21, 1989, award a contract for the subject project to Building Energy Consultants of Huntington Beach in the amount of $7,932.60, and to authorize a supplemental 1988-89 budget appropriation in the amount of $1,900. for the complete installation of the street lights. BACKGROUND: This project provides for the installation of street light conduit at Glenarbor Avenue and Hollyhock Avenue. The conduit will be utilized to install one street light on the east side of each street. Bids for this work were opened on February 14, 1989 and summarized as follows: Building Energy Consultants, · Huntington Beach . . $ 7,932.60 Steiny and Company, Inc., Fullerton ....... $ 7,995..00 William R. Hahn, Norco · , ......... $10,647.00 Raymor Electric Co., San Gabriel ........ $11,505.00 The low bid is 10% below the Engineer's estimate of $8,775. A total of $7,200 is budgeted for this project. A supplemental budget of $1,900' is required for the complete installation of the street lights including Southern California Edison fees.
