TO BAN S~T.~ OF PORNC)GRAP~C MATERIAL FROM ANY PUBLIC WI~REAS, from the founding of our nation, our legislators have enacted laws to protect the rights of our citizens regardless of race, religion, creed, or ages and WHEREAS, it is the duty of responsible citizens to care for the'welfare of minor childrens and WHEREAS, in recent years the distribution and sale of pornographic materials has increased at a phenomenal rates and W~REAS, harmful material is now available for sale at various places of business which are easily accessible to minor childrens and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2092 (Chapte~ 909) prohibits the display, .sale or offer to sell in any coin- or slUg-operated vending machines or mechanically or electronically controlled vending machine which is located in a public place, other than a public place from which minors are excluded, any .harmful matter displaying to ~he public view certain specified sexual acts.~r sexual Organs is guilty of a misdemeanor~ and WHEREAS, the legislation be£ng introduced by Assemblyman Gil Ferguson is to prohibit the sale of harmful pornographic matter from any public place from which minors are not excluded~ and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City council of ~he City of Wes~ninster, California, does hereby SUpport Assemblyman . Ferguson' s legislation to effectively keep harmful pornographic material from our young people; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby urge all members of our 'State Legislation to support this bill in an effort to stem the increasing distribution of pornographic material to our young children.
