JAMBOREE ROAD GRADING AND DRAINAGE PROJECT BETWEEN TUSTIN RANCH
ROAD AND CHAPMAN AVENUE RELOCATED (ORANGE) - FILE NO. 2199.5
RECOMMENDATION'
.
Receive and file.
BACKGROUNQ-
.
The grading and drainage facility contract for Jamboree Road is funded
by Tustin Assessment District No. 86-2 and Orange Assessment District
No. 86-1. The Tustin District No. 86-2 is funded by properties lying
within both jurisdictions of Orange and Tustin. The Orange District No.
86-1 is funded by properties lying totally within the City of Orange.
When the current Jamboree grading contract was awarded, it covered the
limits between Tustin Ranch Road and Chapman Avenue (Relocated) in
Orange. The remaining portion of grading between Chapman Avenue
(Relocated) and Santiago Canyon Road (Relocated) was to be initiated
under a separate contract due to the use of the excavated material in a
future Irvine Ranch Water District reservoir site. The grading of the
reservoir site has been delayed and it is now required, to add this
grading to the original grading/drainage.contract.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed contract change order will add 255,000 cubic yards of
material back into the contract at a quoted unit price of $3.49 per
cubic yard for a total cost of $889,950. This cost has been accounted
for in the original assessment districts, estimates and funding and will
provide no additional financial impacts to either City.
