DISCUSSION
JWA - The City's consultant, Mr. John Van Houten, has performed an initial
re--'~iew of the County's report on aircraft arrival noise levels. Essentially, he
believes that the County has done what they said they would do, but not to as
great a level of detail as they could have. Consequently, Mr. Van'Houten will
perform a detailed analysis of the data provided with the report. The results
of this analysis along with any appropriate recommendations are expected to be
provided to the City by mid April. Review of the FAA report on air traffic
controls for JWA is still underway and staff would expect to have draft comments
available by the April 3rd City Council meeting.
The second staff report on the Phase 2 Access Plan for JWA will be mailed out to
interested parties on March 20, 1989. It is scheduled to go before the County
Airport Commission on Wednesday, Apri 1 5, 1989.
ASC - No new information; the next meeting is scheduled for Saturday, April 8,
1989.
CRAS - The annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 1989, at which
~ Councilman Kelly's election to the Board of Directors is expected.
HOTF - There is no task force meeting scheduled for this month; however, the
~ of Irvine is organizing sub-committees to discuss the various proposed
routes. Our staff will sit in on the sub-committee for the Reservoir Route
{alternate to the Irvine Boulevard Route). Staff will keep the Council informed
of all progress and discussions regarding this item. Following this
sub-committee meeting, it may be appropriate to schedule a meeting with Colonel
Wagner of the Marine Corps to discuss the Reservoir Route.
