ROLL Present: Councilmen: Mack, Klingelhofer, Coco, Miller CALL Absent: Councilman: Ring Others Present: City Administrator Harry Gill City Attorney James Rourke City Clerk Ruth Poe IV. CANVASS OF 1. CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION CANVASS PRESENTED TO THE ELECTION COUNCIL BY THE CITY CLERK Votes recorded are attached her~to and made a part of these minutes as though set forth hereat in full. 2. RESOLUTION NO. 936 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF TUSTIN ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1968, DECLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW. Moved b~ Klinge!hofer, seconded by Miller that Resolution No. 936 be read by title only. Carried unanimously. Moved by Coco, seconded by Klingelhofer that Resolution No. 936, reciting the fact of the election, be passed and adopted, Carried by roll call. Ayes: Mack, Klinge~hofer, Coco, · Miller. Noes: None° ~sent: Ring. V. INSTALLATIONS 1. OATH OF OFFICE was then administered to the City Clerk Ruth C. Poe by the City Attorney. 2. OATH OF OFFICE administered to the three Councilmen elected - Gerald C. Mack, A. J. Coco and Laurentz R. Marsters - by the City Clerk. VI. ELECTION OF 1. Meeting turned over to the City Clerk and MAYOR AND nominations for Mayor opened. MAYOR PRO TEM It was the consensus of opinion that the office of Mayor should rotate. Mro Mack had done an out- standing job in this office for the past five years, but that if any other Councilman felt that he had the time and availability, a new Mayor should be appointed. Councilmen Klingelhofer, Miller and Marsters did not feel they had the available time to meet all the demands made upon a Mayor. .Council MinuEes 4/16/68 Pg. 2 Moved by Klingelhofer, seconded by Marsters that Councilman Coco be nominated for the office of Mayor° There Being n6'further nominations, the ngminations were closed. Above motion carried and A. J. Coco was duly elected Mayor by a unanimous vote. 2. Mayor Coco assumed the chair and opened nominations for MayDr Pro Tem. Moved by Miller, seconded by Klingelhofer that Councilman Mack be nominated for Mayor Pro Tem. There being no further nominations, the nominations for Mayor Pro Tem were closed. Above motion carried and Gerald C. Mack was duly elected Mayor Pro Tem by a unanimous vote. VII. OTHER 1. APPOINTMENT OF REPRESENTATIVES Sanitation BUSINESS Districts 1 and 7 Moved by Mack, seconded by Klingelhofer that Councilman Clifton C. Miller be appointed as principal active representative to Sanitation Districts 1 and 7~ Carried unanimously. 2. RESOLUTION NO. 937 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING DUANE J. RING Moved by Mack, seconded by Klingelhofer that Resolution No. 937 be read in its entirety. Carried. Moved by Miller, seconded by Klingelhofer that Resolution No. 937, commending Duane J. Ring, be passed and adopted. ~ayor Coco requested that Mr. Ring be invited'to attend the Council meeting of May 6th for presentation of this Resolution. 3. LETTER OF RESIGNATION FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION Received from ~4r. Marsters Moved by Klingelhofer, seconded by Mack that the Council accept the resignation of Mr. Marsters ~Tith grateful appreciation for his past services. Carried - Mr. Marsters abstained. Moved by Klingelhofer, seconded by Miller that ~he City Att6rney'R~u~k~ draft a Resolution gommend~ng Mr. Marsters for his service to the City as a Planning Commissioner and as Commission Chairman. to be presented at the next regular meeting.
