BID REJECTION ON ENTRY MONUMENT SIGNS
RECOMMENDATION
Reject bid received and authorize resolicitation of bids for
installation of new entry signs.
BACKGROUND
In late September, 1989 the City Council authorized solicitation
of bids for new monument entry signs for the City. After required
public noticing bids were opened on January 81 1990.
Unfortunately, only 2 companies even picked up bid packages and
only one bid was received. As authorized by State law, staff would
prefer reviewing specifications and resoliciting again in an effort
to obtain additional bids and to ensure that the City is getting
a competitive response.
It is, therefore, recommended that the one bid received from B.C.
Unlimited be rejected and that the City Council authorize staff to
resolicit bids.
