The following is a summary of the status for the property located
at 170 El Camino Real, Tustin per request at a meeting of the City
Council on January 2, 1990.
DISCUSSION
The property located at 170 E1 Camino Real, Tustin was recorded as
a substandard structure with the County Recorder's office on June
61 1989. At the meeting of the City Council on June 19, 1989, a
motion was made to direct City Attorney staff to initiate legal
proceedings to obtain judgement which would force the property
owners, Martin and June Perfit, to renovate the structure and
subject property.
The City Attorney's office has postponed legal action towards the
current property owners pending a sale of the property that would
include demolition of the structure. At the previous City Council
meeting of January 2, 1990, the City Attorney suggested that this
matter be continued for two weeks to allow the buyer time to obtain
the demolition permits. The prospective owner has entered into
a 120 day escrow on the property, and is aware that the property
has a substandard structure on it.
CONCLUSION
Staff has had a request from the prospective new owner to delay any
demolition that is pending before the City Council. The
prospective new owner has indicated that permits will be obtained
for the required demolition within thirty days. Staff does not
consider the structure in its boarded up condition an endangerment
