HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CONSENT CALENDAR NO. 3 2-20-90 Inter - Com SUBJECT: APRIL ELECTION - ESTABLISHING PRECINCTS, POLLING PLACES, PRECINCT BOARD MEMBERS, AND COMPENSATIONS RECOMMENDATION: Adopt Resolution No. 90-26 establishing voting precincts and polling places; appointing precinct board members; and fixing compensation for the General Municipal Election to be held on April 10, 1990. BACKGROUND: Election Code Section 1638 states the City Clerk, not less than 29 days prior to an election, shall issue an order appointing the members of the precinct boards and designating the polling places. Valerie Whiteman Acting Chief Deputy City Clerk 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2C 21 Z 2%-c 24 2€ 2( 2' 21 RESOLUTION NO. 90-26 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING VOTING PRECINCTS AND POLLING PLACES, APPOINTING PRECINCT BOARD MEMBERS AND FIXING COMPENSATION FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION ON TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 1990, CALLED BY RESOLUTION NO. 89- 176 OF THE CITY COUNCIL WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 10, 1990, has been called by Resolution No. 89-176, adopted on November 20, 1989; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of holding the General Municipal Election, there is established eighteen (18) voting precincts consisting of consolidations of the regular election precincts in the City of Tustin established for the holding of state and county elections, as the regular election precincts exist on the date of adoption of this Resolution. That the polling places for the respective precincts shall be the places designated; and that the persons named, being competent and voters and residents of the city are appointed precinct board members for their respective voting precincts and they shall conduct the election in the manner provided by law. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the book of original Resolutions.
