City Council Report
City Entry Monument Sign - Award of Bid
March 5, 1990
Page 2
The base bid and mock-up include construction of the entry sign
with a recession for placement of a logo plate and preparation of
three field mock-ups to replicate either a bronze plate, enameled
multi -colored metal plate or concrete textured logo plate. Upon
City review of mock-up in field condition on installed entry sign,
the City would select a preferred design and the selected
contractor would be required to fabricate or install the preferred
alternative. The bidders have, therefore, been asked to provide
a bid on each alternative logo installation.
Staff have reviewed the bid proposal, including alternative logo
installations and recommends acceptance of the Markel Cement
Contracting bid with an average low bid of $15,375 and a maximum
bid for alternative 3 of $15,757. Construction of the entry
monument signs is a funded capital project in the fiscal year 1989-
90 budget.
