AMENDING ORDINANCE'NO. 157, ZONING ORDINANCE, AS
AMENDED, RELATIVE TO FENCES, HEDGES AND WALLS. --
Hearing opened at 7:37 P.M.
Mr. Supinger presented staff ~eport includi'~g the
following revisions as requested by the Council:
I. Section 5.1~ (A) (3) has been revised ~c
provide that, where a fence, hedge orw~l

within twenty feet of a street right-of-
way, staff approva) must be obtained.

Councilman Klingelhofer of the applicants and of all points

that ne and Dr. Klingelhofer would like to recommend for
Council consideration, the appointment of ~r. ~aurence S.
Webster to the Tustin Planning Commission.

AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS, ADOPTED BY REFERENCE THE
UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1967, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCE NO, 209 AND ANY AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES,
OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES, IN CONFLICT WITH THIS

be maintained, but nonestly we will have to wait and see.
Counci man Coco stated that ~e could not emohasize TOO
STrongly thai' we are able to take advantage of the TaX
reduction this year. The budget was arrived at througn
work with the administrative staff, wno were very closely
involved with it. and we haven't sacrificed any of the
DuOgeTeO items. We have ~eoi-ional revenue ~,~nich may
compensate for This. The "n0ortant thing 's that we are
looking at all these i-hings closely anc wnere it can De
reduce0 we wilt reduce '- but we v,,il not arbitrarily
reduce it just for the sake of reduction.

activities and committees--'nclud~ng those airactors and
members working on each comm Tree.
Mr. Barletta also reao a Resolution adopted bv The Chamber
recommending That tha Counci take action TO alienate what
they feel is inadequate representation for The Tustin
Dusiness community on aoaras and commissions. Tne Resolu~
· ion asked for the abolition of residency reouiremenTs
for appointment To such bodies-, the,Drereouisite being
that the person considered have a vested., taxable interes~
within the ci+y.
Councilman Coco said he felt That the arereogisite, stated
in The Resolution, ful+'lls the conditions --at were
calla0 for by Tne people in 1964 and that he naa nc ODjeC~
tion to Cringing ousinessmen with a vested interest in
the city living in the Tustin area.
Mayor Mack thanked Mr. Barletta for his 0resentation and
said the letter containing the Resolution snoulo oe TaKen
under consideration for study session for amendment To
The Resolution covering appointment of commissioners.
The City Clerk was directed to contact other cities to
find out what' thai~ resioency requ'remenTs are.
Councilman Coco ~oted that The Planning Commission is the
only aaaointed Dooy that has an "across the board'~
res[0ency requirement.
