SUBJECT: AGREEMENT WITH C.H.P. - COURT LIAISON SERVICES
Recommendation
The City Council approve the attached contract amendment
authorizing the City of Tustin to continue to perform the
court liaison duties for the California Highway Patrol,
Santa Ana Office.
Background
On May 15, 1989, Council approved Resolution 89-64 which
authorized the City of Tustin to enter into an agreement
with the California Highway Patrol, Santa Ana Office.
This agreement allowed court liaison duties to be per-
formed by the Tustin Police Department for the California
Highway Patrol. The agreement is currently up for
renewal.
The attached amendment to the agreement provides for pay-
ment to the Tustin Police Department from the California
Highway Patrol of $12,336 per year, which is approximately
one -half -of our Court Liaison Officer's salary.
Sharing our Court Liaison Officer with the C.H.P. for this
usage will not adversely affect this Department's opera-
tion. The contract amendment has been reviewed by our
City Attorney and approved as to form and content.

WITNESSETH: That the Contractor for and in consideration of the covenants, conditions, agreements, and stipulations of the State

It is mutually agreed between the parties hereto that Standard
Agreement 88-C3190, dated August 1, 1989, shall be amended effective
July 30, 1990, as follows:
The purpose of this contract is for the City of Tustin to provide
the services of a Court Liaison Clerk to the California Highway
Patrol, Santa Ana facility located at 2031 East Santa Clara
Avenue, Santa Ana, CA. Amendment I shall extend the termination
date to July 31, 1992 and increase the contract by $24,672.00.
AMEND Paragraph 4 to read:
The term of this contract shall be August 1, 1989 through
July 31, 1992.

AMEND Paragraph 7 to read as follows:
State agrees to pay Contractor monthly in arrears upon receipt of
an invoice One Thousand Twenty Eight Dollars ($1,028.00)
including all applicable taxes and expenses. Payment shall be
made from.funds-appropriated to the Department California Highway
Patrol and subject to the fiscal procedures of the State of
California. The total contract amount shall not exceed Thirty
Seven Thousand Eight Dollars ($37,008.00).
Except as herein amended, all other parts and sections of this
contract shall remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
