SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL IMPROVEMENTS ON IRVINE
BOULEVARD, NEWPORT AVENUE, EDINGER AVENUE, AND RED HILL AVENUE
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council at their meeting of April
17, 1990 award the contract, subject to Caltrans' approval, to Steiny
and Company, Inc., Fullerton, in the amount of $197,800.00 for the
subject project.
BACKGROUND:
Five bids were received on April 6, 1990 and are summarized as follows:
Steiny and Company, Inc., Fullerton ........ $197,800.00
- IMS, Lancaster $222,755.00
William R. Hahn, Norco $239,920.00
Paul Gardner Corp., Ontario .....$239,950.00
Raymor Electric Co., Baldwin Park .......... $276,450.00
The low bid is 0.9% below the engineer's estimate of $199,550. The
project will have no financial impact on City's General Fund, and the
cost will be reimbursed by Caltrans per District Agreement No. 12-039
with Caltrans.
