HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 3 TRANS PROGRAMS 05-21-90�0 'ONSENT CALENDAR NO. 3 5..�....__... 5/21/90 DATE: MAY 14, 1990 TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER Inter - Com FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: STATE/LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM PROJECTS - AUTHORIZE THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER TO EXECUTE FUNDING APPLICATIONS RECOMMENDA_T_ION: That the City Council, by resolution, authorize the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to execute applications for funding under the state/ local transportation partnership program. BACKGROUND: Legislation has not yet been finalized to fund the state/local transpor- tation partnership program beyond the 1990-W91 year. However, in anticipation of extended funding for the program, Caltrans is accepting applications through June 1990 for projects to be included in the 1991-92 year extension. A tentative listing of the Tustin projects to be included in the 1991-92 program application is 1) Yorba Street - Rehabilitation/overlay Leafwood Drive to Laurie Lane 2) Yorba Street - Rehabilitate/overlay Amaganset Way to Norwood Park P1. 3) Prospect Avenue - Rehabilitate/reconstruct Irvine Boulevard to Amaganset Way The funding level of the extended program has not been set. But the approximate funding split of the 1990-91 program is State 15% and Agency 85%. Bob Ledendecker Director of Public Works/City Engineer 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 i 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 RESOLUTION NO. 90-56 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER TO EXECUTE APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING UNDER STATE/LOCAL TRANSPORTATION PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM PROJECTS The City Council of The City of Tustin does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, The State Legislature is considering, among other things, establishment of a program known as the State -Local Transportation Partnership Program; and WHEREAS, this legislation may provide that it is the intent of the Legislature to appropriate funding for eligible transportation projects in the 1991-92 fiscal year; and WHEREAS, the term "eligible projects" is defined to mean a local road, state highway, or an exclusive public mass transit guideway improvement project that will meet certain conditions described in the legislation; and WHEREAS, the legislation may provide for applications for funding eligible projects to be submitted to the Department of Transportation of the State of California in accordance with time limitations set forth therein; and i WHEREAS, it is the intent and desire of the City Council that the City of Tustin apply for funding for highway improvement projects pursuant to the guidelines set forth in such legislation and by the Department of Transportation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Tustin that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be, , and he is hereby, authorized to execute applications necessary to apply for funding for highway improvement projects pursuant to the State -Local Transportation Partnership Program.
