SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATIONS AT NINE
INTERSECTION LOCATIONS
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council at their meeting of May
21, 1990 award the contract for the subject project to Signal
Maintenance, Inc. in the amount of $219,486.00.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were received and opened on May 16, 1990 for subject project and
are summarized as follows:
Signal Maintenance, Inc., Anaheim ............. $219,486.00
IMS, Lancaster ................................ $224,645.00
Steiny and Company, Inc., Anaheim ............. $236,319.00
Pacific Traffic Systems, Santa Ana ............ $237,000.00
Raymor Electric Co., Inc., Baldwin Park ....... $245,500.00
Moore Electrical Contracting, Corona .......... $253,400.00
The low bid by Signal Maintenance, Inc. is 0.23% under the Engineer's
estimate of $220,000.00 and will be funded with Fiscal Year 89-90
General Fund, Redevelopment Agency, and Assessment District No. 85-1
monies.
This project will provide the construction of traffic signal
improvements as follows:
1. Modifications to the existing traffic signals to provided
protected left -turn phasing at the following locations:
* Irvine Boulevard and Holt Avenue
* Irvine Boulevard and Prospect Avenue
* Irvine Boulevard and Red Hill Avenue
* Newport Avenue and Holt Avenue
* Newport Avenue and Main Street
* Red Hill Avenue and Sycamore Avenue
2. Modifications to the existing traffic signal controllers at
the following locations:
* Jamboree Road and Bryan Avenue
* Jamboree Road and E1 Camino Real
