SUBJECT: RECOVERY OF CITY INCURRED COST OF A NOTICE TO CLEAN
PREMISES ON -LOT 15, BLOCK 12 IRVINE SUBDIVISION
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the City Council adopt Resolution No. 90-49
approving a special assessment of four hundred thirteen dollars and
thirteen cents ($413.13).
BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION
The subject property is a vacant lot adjacent to the flood channel
on the westerly side of Red Hill Avenue between Olwyn Drive and
First Street. On February 26, 1990, staff posted and sent a Notice
to Clean Premises of weeds and debris within ten days per City Code
Section 4413.
On March 23, 1990, staff reinspected the subject property and found
that the clean up work had not been completed. Since staff
received no contact from the property owner regarding this matter,
staff had to perforM the necessary clean up work to clear the
property of all weeds and debris. The work order was carried out
on March 30, 1990 an(I the following expenses were incurred by the
City.
Materials - Dump► Fees
9 tons at $13.75 $123.75
Labor $289.38
Total City Incurred Expenses $413.13
CONCLUSION
Staff will continue to monitor this subject property in the event
that it necessitates future weed abatement action.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCX& OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, ASSESS1140- THE PROPERTY
IDENTIFIED AS LOT 15 IN BL06K 12 IRVINE
SUBDIVISION FOR, THE COST INCURRED BY THE CITY
FOR THE NOTICE TOCLEAN PREMISES.
WHEREAS, the City has made every effort to secure the
cooperation of the property owner in abating the nuisance at
Lot 15 in Blpck 12 Irvine Subdivision.
WHEREAS, upon the failure of the property owner to cause
the 4batement, and City staff has abated the nuisance at a
cost to the City of $413.13.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RF4SOLVED that the City Engineer
for the City of Tustin is directed to place a special
assessment on Assessor's Parcel No. 103-533-12 in the amount
of :x43.3.13 to recover the cost incurred by the City of Tustin
in weed abatement for the property identified as Lot 15 Block
12 Irvine Subdivision.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Tustin, California held on the 7th day
of May 1990.
