SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT ON
PROSPECT AVENUE, GARLAND AVENUE, WREATH PLACE AND CHAPLET PLACE
PROJECT NOS. 600074 AND 600076 (FILE ##2894)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of June
41 1990, by resolution, approve plans and specifications for subject
project and direct the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND: 1.
This project encompasses replacement of deteriorated water mains on
Garland Avenue, Wreath Place and Chaplet Place in the unincorporated
territory of Orange County and Prospect Avenue in the City of Tustin.
There is presently a total of $240,000.00 allocated in the Fiscal Year
1989-90 budget for the above-mentioned locations. Below is the
tentative schedule for this project:
Authorization to advertise for bids............ 6-04-90
First legal advertisement ...................... 6-14-90
Second legal advertisement ..................... 6-21-90
Bidopening .................................... 7-10-90
Awardcontract ................................. 7-16-90
Beginconstruction ............................. 8-06-90

RESOLUTION NO. 90-63
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF WATER
MAINS ON PROSPECT AVENUE, GARLAND AVENUE,
WREATH PLACE AND CHAPLET PLACE AND AUTHORIZING
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS.
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the
City of Tustin, California to contract construction for the
replacement of water mains on Prospect Avenue, Garland Avenue,
Wreath Place and Chaplet Place; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented
specifications for the construction of said work;
plans and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and
specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby
approved as the plans and specifications for:
Replacement of Water Mains on Prospect Avenue, Garland
Avenue, Wreath Place and Chaplet Place
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the
receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work
specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically
exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental
Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Tustin, held on the 4th day of June, 1990.
