SUBJECT: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON CO. AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION
AND CONVEYANCE OF FACILITIES
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council approve the Southern California Edison
Company agreement for installation and conveyance of facilities along
Jamboree Road between the northerly city limits and Chapman Avenue (City
of Orange) within Assessment District No. 86-2 and authorize the Mayor
to execute said agreement.
BACKGROUND:
As a part of the infrastructure improvements within Assessment District
No. 86-2, the City installed certain mainline electrical facilities in
Jamboree Road between the northerly city limits and Chapman Avenue (City
of Orange). These facilities consisted of mainline conduit, manholes
and vaults.
These facilities were installed as the overall system to provide
electrical power to the Tustin Ranch area and East Orange area.
DISCUSSION:
The attached Edison Company agreement provides for the City to furnish
and install certain facilities at the City's initial expense. Once the
improvements have been installed and accepted by the Edison Company, the
title for these improvements shall pass to the Edison Company. .
After conveyance to the Edison Company, the company agrees to reimburse
the City (Assessment District) the amount of $9,987.68 for the
installation of manholes, vaults and facilities other than the mainline
conduits.
Staff requests that the City Council approve the attached agreement and
authorize the Mayor to execute said document. This is a standard format
utility reimbursement agreement which the City has previously executed
for both assessment districts.
