Inter - Com PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON CO. AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION AND CONVEYANCE OF FACILITIES RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustin City Council approve the Southern California Edison Company agreement for installation and conveyance of facilities along Jamboree Road between the northerly city limits and Chapman Avenue (City of Orange) within Assessment District No. 86-2 and authorize the Mayor to execute said agreement. BACKGROUND: As a part of the infrastructure improvements within Assessment District No. 86-2, the City installed certain mainline electrical facilities in Jamboree Road between the northerly city limits and Chapman Avenue (City of Orange). These facilities consisted of mainline conduit, manholes and vaults. These facilities were installed as the overall system to provide electrical power to the Tustin Ranch area and East Orange area. DISCUSSION: The attached Edison Company agreement provides for the City to furnish and install certain facilities at the City's initial expense. Once the improvements have been installed and accepted by the Edison Company, the title for these improvements shall pass to the Edison Company. . After conveyance to the Edison Company, the company agrees to reimburse the City (Assessment District) the amount of $9,987.68 for the installation of manholes, vaults and facilities other than the mainline conduits. Staff requests that the City Council approve the attached agreement and authorize the Mayor to execute said document. This is a standard format utility reimbursement agreement which the City has previously executed for both assessment districts. Bob Ledendecker Director of Public Works/City Engineer Attach. AGREEMENT FOR INSTALLATION AN n- CONVEYANCE OF FACILITIES This AGREEMENT is made this day of , 19-90.._., by and between CTTY OF TUSTTN , hereinafter called "Customer", and Southern California Edison Company, a corporation, hereinafter called "Edison". 1. Edison has requested Customer to furnish and install facilities as specified below located at .TAMBIIREE Rn 'FROM 0 ANGECI.TY LIMITS To C14APMAN and at a location on said property as designated by Edison. 2. Customer agrees, at Customer's expense, to furnish and install the facilities specified as follows: PAD SLAB ENCLOSURE OTHER 3. Customer further agrees that immediately upon completion of said facilities and acceptance by Edison, title to each and every component thereof shall pass to Edison free and clear of all liens and encumbrances without further action upon the part of Applicant. Upon such conveyance, Edison agrees to pay to Customer Edison's estimated -installed cost of the facilities which is agreed to be 4. Edison shall have the right of ingress to and egress from Customer's premises and access to the facilities for operation and/or maintenance purposes.
