Background Section 1626a (2) of City of Tustin Ordinance No. 871 discusses the disposition of property and requires the purchasing agent to make a written estimate of the value of any surplus items not usable by the City or not required for public use. Further, the City Council must find that these surplus items are not required for public use and after said finding, the purchasing agent shall have the authority to sell all such items in accordance with Section 1625c, and Section 1625d of Ordinance No. 871, whichever applies. Discussion The equipment listed is a result of the City's rotation and upgrading of equipment. The items have exceeded their useful life. The two pool tables were donated to the City for use by Seniors. Therefore, the Community Services Department is requesting that the proceeds from their sale be earmarked for the purchase of new tables, game room equipment, or upkeep of the new tables purchased for the Tustin Area Senior Center. With the City Council's approval, staff proposes to sell the equipment at public auction.
