HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 8 ANNL LDSCP MAINT 09-04-90AGEN, DA DATE: TO: FROM: AUGUST 28, 1990 WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER CONSENT CALENDAR N0. 8 9-4-90 Inter - Com PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE ANNUAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR EL CAMINO REAL RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of September 4, 1990, adopt the attached resolution approving specifica- tions for subject project and authorizing advertisement for bids. BACKGROUND: It has been the practice of the City of Tustin to contract for land- scape maintenance program for E1 Camino Real. The last contract was a multi-year annual contract and expired on August 7, 1990. The Engineering Division has drafted specifications for these programs and is proposing a five-year contract with each year renewable upon satisfactory performance by the contractor and based on adjustment of prices according to the Consumer Price Index (CPI). The program schedule is as follows: Council authorization for bid ............ September 4, 1990 First legal advertisement ................ September 13, 1990 Second legal advertisement ............... September 20, 1990 Bid opening .............................. September 25, 1990 Council award of bid October 1, 1990 Bob Ledendecker W]Sam Altowaiji Director of Public Works/City Engineer Associate Civil Engineer BL: WA: mv 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 90-115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE ANNUAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR EL CAMINO REAL WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California to maintain the landscape on E1 Camino Real in the City of Tustin; and WHEREAS the City Engineer has presented specifications for the purpose of accomplishing this work; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the specifications presented by the City Engineer be and hereby approved as the specifications for: ANNUAL LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE PROGRAM FOR EL CAMINO REAL BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid specifications. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is categorically exempt from the requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
