SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 86-2
STORM DRAIN FACILITY F06BOl AND LINES F, G AND J
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council adopt the attached resolution accepting works
of improvement and authorize the recordation of the Notice of Completion for
the Assessment District No. 86-2 Storm Drain Facility F06BOI and Lines F, G
and J.
Assuming no claims or stop notices are filed, it is futher recommended that
30 days after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, the City
Council authorize payment of the final 10% retention amount of $180,624.97.
This amount, together with previous payments of $1,631,579.48 represents 100%
of the final contract amount of $1,812,204.45.
BACKGROUND:
This project provided for the installation of Asssessment District No. 86-2
Storm Drain Facility F06BOI and Lines F, G and J. Facility F06BOI commences
at the existing easterly inlet of the retarding basin and extends northerly
along Pioneer Road to Jamboree Road. Line "F" is located within Patriot Way

between Pioneer Road and Jamboree Road. Lines G�� and J are located within
easements between Pioneer Road and Jamboree Road both northerly and
southerly, respectively, of Patriot Way. This storm drain work is located
within Tract No. 13627 of the Tustin Ranch area.
The original contract bid for this project was $1,784,860.00
DISCUSSION:
These storm drain improvements have now been conpleted by the contractor,
Forster Construction Company, to the satisfaction of the Public Works
Department/Engineering Division.
The final contract amount for this project was $1,812,204.45. This
represents a contract overrun of 1.53% over the original contract bid amount.
It is requested that the City Council accept the subject improvements and
authori the Notice f Co pletion to be filed for recordation.

RESOLUTION NO. 90-128
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING
RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
86-2 STORM DRAIN FACILITY F06BOl AND LINES F, G AND J
WHEREAS, Forster Construction Company, having a contract with the
City of Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public work and
improvement; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the construction
and completion of said public improvements hereinafter mentioned in a
manner satisfactory to the City Council of the City of Tustin; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed
said public improvement hereinafter more particularly described in
accordance with the provisions of the contract documents, and the notice
of completion and acceptance of. said public work and improvement should
be filed and payment of the balance due on said contract authorized in
accordance with the contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Tustin that said public work and improvement be, and the same is hereby
accepted. Said public work and improvement is more particularly
described as follows:
Assessment District 86-2 Storm Drain Facility F06BOl and Lines F,
G and J.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the City of
Tustin be, and is hereby authorized to execute and file a notice of
completion and acceptance of said public work and improvement described
herein as required by law.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a
regular meeting held on the 1st day of October, 1990.
