SUBJECT: I-5/SR-55 INTERCHANGE RECONSTRUCTION MILESTONE SCHEDULE
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and file.
DISCUSSION:
At their August 20, 1990 meeting the City Council requested a Milestone
Schedule of all freeway construction within the City. A scheduling on the
I-5 widening was reviewed on September 4, 1990. This report covers the
I-5/SR-55 interchange reconstruction.
STAGE I - Complete
STAGE II - Under Construction
STAGE III
February 1, 1991
June 1, 1991
Stage I was the widening of SR -55 from
Dyer Road to I-5.
Stage II is the widening of SR -55 from
I-5 to Seventeenth Street. Included is
the reconstruction of the Irvine Blvd.
and First Street bridges across SR -55.
While this project has been under
construction for some time now, a
critical path schedule has not been
approved. A schedule should be available
for the October 15, 1990 council meeting.
Stage III is the final phase of the
I-5/SR-55 interchange reconstruction
project. It included the construction
of the I-5/SR-55 commuter flyover and the
construction of sound walls, retaining
walls and ramp connectors to tie together
the previous two phases with the I-5
widening.
Approval of project plans, specifications
and estimate by Caltrans Headquarters,
Sacramento.
Advertise project for bids.
October 1, 1991 Begin construction
Summer/Fall 1995 Complete construction. Caltrans will
specify the order of work to be done.
The contractor will set the project
schedule when construction begins.
