Council to ratify appointment of individuals listed below to the
Citizen Task Force which will recommend distribution of funds to
local non-profit groups.
BACKGROUND:
At its meeting November 5, 1990, Council requested short background
summaries regarding the individuals recommended by staff. These are
attached for Council's information. In addition to knowledge of
the Tustin community, these individuals were selected because none
has close ties to any of the non-profit organizations which have
applied for funds.
On July 11, 1990, the City Council allocated $30,000 financial
support to Tustin area non-profit organizations. In the ensuing
months, Administrative Services has distributed guidelines and
applications to Tustin Area non-profit agencies.
Staff has identified the following individuals to comprise the
Citizen Task Force for this project: Wayne Edmondson, Warren
Esterline, Gwen Ferguson, Don LeJuene, and Isabelle McClements.
The Task Force members will review the applications and recommend
distribution of funds to the City Council later this year. The
Citizen Task Force members have been selected for their knowledge
of the Tustin area, as well as their integrity and impartiality.
Staff is confident these individuals will serve the City of Tustin
capably.
