concrete that had to be removed for maintenance of irrigation facilities
and/or modification of traffic. signal facilities (Item Nos. 2, 32 4, 51 6, 7,
9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 17, 18, and 19).

construction of asphalt concrete paving, and installation of traffic control
signs (Item Nos. 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8) 13, and 14).
One location which requires the removal of existing median island landscaping
and construction of embossed concrete paving (Item No. 15).
DISCUSSION:
The estimated cost for this project is $28,850.00 and will be funded as follows:
Street Maintenance Acct. No. 4030-6245 $10,228.00
Capital Improvement Program Project No. 300011 $18,622.00
$28,850.00
Three project areas have been previously deleted by the City Council as follows:
Irvine Blvd./Fashion Lane ($5,300)
First St./Fashion Lane ($2,600)
First St./Hall Circle ($2,600)
Staff is requesting that eight new locations (1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 81 13 and 14) be
constructed in lieu of the three above mentioned deleted locations. These median
modifications will remove the existing median from the crosswalk areas
eliminating a potential tripping hazard and/or provide a smoother left turn
radius for vehicles.
The remaining median island at Bryan Ave. and Stonehenge is being re-evaluated
for landscaping and irrigation in lieu of embossed concrete paving. It is
anticipated that this landscape/irrigation work can be completed for the
remaining $16,800 in the Capital Improvement Program project No. 300011 and will
be accomplished under a separate contract.
