HUSTON, CITY MANAGER CONSENT CALENDAR NO. 5 12-17-90 Inter - Com PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: 1991-92 COUNTY OF ORANGE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM (AHFP) RECOMMENDATION: That the City Council, by resolution, request the County of Orange include the following construction project in the 1991-92 AHFP: Red Hill Avenue - Warner Avenue to Valencia Avenue - rehabilitation and resurfacing $261,000 DISCUSSION: The County of Orange Arterial Highway Financing Program (AHFP) is an annual program from which funds are allocated by the County of Orange for expenditure in cities for the construction and/or rehabilitation of master planned arterial highways. The program provides for the City and County to share equally in project costs. This Red Hill Avenue Improvement Project is included in the 1991-92 City Capital Improvement Program, and if approved, will be included in the 1991-92 Public Works Department budget request. Robert Ledendecker Director of Public Works/City Engineer RL:ccg 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16' i 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 RESOLUTION NO. 90-159 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE COUNTY OF ORANGE TO INCLUDE WITHIN THE ARTERIAL HIGHWAY FINANCING PROGRAM THE IMPROVEMENT OF VARIOUS STREETS WHEREAS, the City of Tustin desires to improve Red Hill Avenue within the limits listed below: and WHEREAS, this street is an important arterial in the County of Orange and of general County interest: and WHEREAS, Article 2 and Article 3, Chapter 9, Division 2 of the Streets and Highways Code authorizes a County, if it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of the California Highway Users Tax Fund for aid to any City in the improvement, construction, or repair of a street within a City: and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors intends to, by appropriate action, provide in the County Road budget for the Fiscal Year 1991-92, a sum of money for the improvement of streets within the incorporated cities of the County in accordance with the Orange County Arterial Highway Financing Program. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Tustin hereby requests the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange to allocate to said City from County Funds the amount of $261,000, said amount to be matched by funds from said City, to be used to aid said City in the improvement of the following streets in accordance with the attached project statement; Red Hill Avenue - Warner Avenue to Valencia Avenue ---------------------$261,000 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisor of the County of orange is hereby requested to find that said improvements on these streets, in the manner provided, is in the general County interest.
