SUBJECT: SANTA ANA VALLEY IRRIGATION CO. (SAVI)
QUITCLAIM OF EASEMENT (FILE #1960)
RECOMMENDATION:
For the Council meeting of December 17, 1990, authorize the
Mayor to execute a Quitclaim Deed to DEV IX/Tustin Freeway
Center Associates for the SAVI easement located along "B" Street
within the Tustin Freeway Center Development.
BACKGROUND:
Several years ago, the City acquired all of the easement rights
of the Santa Ana Valley Irrigation Company (SAVI) within the
City limits and its sphere of influence. Several of these
easements have been utilized for drains, water easements, etc.
by the City. Previous easements that were deemed not to be
utilized by the City have already been quitclaimed to the
property owners at their request subject to a transfer fee of
$90.00 per document.
DISCUSSION:
The developer of the Tustin Freeway Center has requested that
the City quitclaim the SAVI easement rights as it relates to
their property. Staff has investigated this request and has
determined that the City will have no future need for this
particular easement.
