ORANGE COUNTY MONORAIL PLAN - FIXED GUIDEWAY
The Community Development Department has been monitoring the
progress of the Fixed Guideway System. The task force cities of
Anaheim, Irvine, Santa Ana, Orange, Costa Mesa and Fullerton are in
the process of constructing a Joint Powers Agreement (JPA). The
JPA will request $700,000 from Orange county Transportation
Commission (OCTC) to fund the preparation of the plan.
Several other cities, including Tustin, at the request of the City
Councilhave informally requested membership in the JPA, but have
been denied.
Staff will continue to monitor the monorail plan and request that
we be invited to at least attend all meetings and receive all
released documents.
