Recommendatiorl; Request that the Tustin City Council, at their regular meeting of August 7, 1989, authorize the renewal of the asphalt contract with Hardy & Harper, Inc. Further request that the contract be amended to reflect an adjustment of 5%. The Consumer Price Index, for the year ending June 30, 1989 is 5.4%. Discussion: The City originally entered into a contract with Hardy & Harper, on April 8, 1988. The Public Works Department is satisfied with the level of service being provided by Hardy & Harper and desires to extend the contract for another year. The contractor has agreed to continue the service at the rate stated, adjusted 5% for inflation. The Consumer Price Index as published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is 5.4% for the year ending June 30, 1989. The adjusted annual contract would go from $229,875.00 to $241,343.75.
