Present: Sheridan, Mack, Coco. Absent:. Kling~lhofer Also Present: Attorney Rourke, Sissel, Hilton, Wheelock, Brook, Carlsen. Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that Minutes of July 20th be approved as mailed. Carried. Hearing opened at 7:3~ P.M. to consider the establishment SETBACK of a 10' setback in lieu of existin~ 20' setback in Pr IN PR ZONE zone on Fourth St. ON FOURTH STREET Mr. Wheelock explained setbacks and recommendationnor Planning Commission, that 10' setback be approvedo There being no objections o~ comments, the Hearing was declared closed at 7737 P.M. Moved by.Mack, seconded by Coco that Ordinance No. 261, ORD. 261 .establishing setback lines on Fourth Street have first reading by title only. Carried unanimously. Hearing 6pened at ?:40 P;M. to consider the precise alignment of "B" Street from 777.48' northerly of Firs~ Street to ALIGNMENT Fourth Street. "B" STREET Mr. Wheelock explained alignment and conveyed recommendations of the Planning Commission. for approval. There being no comments or object;ions, the Hearing was declared closed at ?:42 P.M. Move~ by Mack, saconded by Coco that alignment be app~oved ALIGNMENT and attorney directed to draft ordinance. Carried. APPROVED Hearing opened at 7:46 P.M. to consider abandonment of certain property at First ~treet and Newport Avenue. ABANDONMENT FIRST & Mr. A. Nisson and Mr. V. Humeston objected to abandonment oi NEWPORT the basis that the City mightneed this property for future street needs. Upon questioning by the Council, Mr. Wheelock explained that all property to be abandoned is between First and Holt and that Holt Street realignment not yet established but is proposed for further North. Mr. Rourke explained that at the time First Street was realigned certain permits or licenses were required from the Southern Pacific Railroad and that the attorney and the City Engineer had a~eed that abandonment proceedings woul~ be initiated. Mr. Carlsen, City ~gineer, explained that PUC wanted Holt closed and a request had been forwarded for realignment of Holt further North. Mr. Carlsen also explained that curving Holt to First Street would mean a bad property cut but that "it was a possibitity that if and when Holt Street is realigned to the North abandonment proceedings could be instigated for all excess property at one time. There being no further comments or objections, the Hearing was closed at 8:05 P.M. ABAND. OF Moved by Coco, seconded by Mack that matter of abandonment FIRST & of certain property at F~Irst and Newport be continued to NEWPORT October 5th awaiting decision of PUC regarding Holt Street CONTIN. realignment. Carried. ORD. 262 Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that Ordinance No. 262 be PASSED passed and adopted as an urgency measure. Carried by roll ADOPTED pall - Ayes: Sheridan, M~ck, Coco. Noes: None. A~sent: Klingelhofer. SENATE City Attorney reported there, is no action necessary on request BILL of Engineering and Grading Contractors Association for Ordinance 664 regarding Senate Bill No. 664. ORD.260 Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that Ordinance No. 260 "An Ordinance of the City Council, Fixing and Determining the Amount of Revenue Necessary to be Raised by Taxation Upon the Taxable Property Within the City of Tustin and the Amount of Revenue Necessary to Carry bn the Various,Departments of the said ~ity for the Fiscal Year 1964.65" ha~eI~econd reading by title only. ADOPTED Comncllman Mack reported that Committee regarding Chamber of Commerce proposal request a Joint meeting within the next two weeks with Chamber Industrial Committee, Chamber Commercial Committee and Chambgr representative from other cities having agreements with their city. MASTER Mayor Sheridan designated the following committee to work out PLAN OF recommendations for a Master P~an of trees. Chairman R, Klingelhofer TREES one member of the Planning Commission, Acting Planning Director, one membe~ of Chamber Beautification Committee and a member of Tustin Area Women's Club. Movedby Mabk, seconded by Coco that Improvement Plans for 4535 Tract No. 4535 be accepted and bonds exonerated,all as recommended by Director of Public Works. BERNICE Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that Salary for Bernice SCHLEITH Schleith, Police Dispatcher be Range 5, Step "A" effective SALARY August 4, 1964. Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that Police Department be authorized to employ a dispatcher from eligibility list, as of September let, Range 5, Step "~!." . Carried. KNICKER_ Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that-Police Chief be a~thorized BOCKER to accept bid of C. B. Knickerbocker to replace 1962 Mercury. BID ACCEPTED 30 5 Moved by Ma~k, seconded by Coco that Police Chief be authorized to replace 1962 Mercury and accept bid of C.B. Knickerbocker in amount of $1,297.71 change over price including tax. BUILDING Moved by Mack, seconded by Coco that City Clerk be authorized STREET to accept Street Easement Deed from Tustin' School District for EASEMENT West half of "B" Street Fourth Street to Westbury Lane. Mr. Coco stated that he wished to convey his thanks to Mr, Ring for his letter of application and stated that Mr. Ring is extremely valuable as sho~m by his work on the Plarming Commission. Mr. Mack conveyed his thanks and tkat of the City to all who submitted letters and directed that the Clerk write letteralto this effect to all who submitted said letters. CORR.
