In a response to an inquiry that Councilman Kelly raised about fire safety at
275 E. Sixth Street, staff provided field inspection information at the
September 18, 1989 Council meeting. With the resignation of the Building
Official., Councilman Kelly requested a new inspector.
Staff, therefore, repeated Orange County Fire Department and Building Division
inspections and the findings were the same as follows:
The Tustin Gardens Senior Citizen complex is comprised of a three
story,
100
unit apartment complex. All stairway exit corridors were found
to be
of
one-hour rated construction per
the requirements of the building
code.
No
wooden stairs were found to exist
at the site. It was noted that all
units were
equipped with individual alarm
stations which are monitored by
management
around-the-clock. The inspectors
found no problems with this structure nor
the
stairways nor any Code violations.
