SUBJECT: ON-STREET PARKING RESTRICTIONS DURING STREET SWEEPING HOURS
~%., STATUS REPORT
As the result of a petition from the residents of Green Valley Avenue,
southerly of Mitchell Avenue, the City Council at their meeting of
September 5, 1989 discussed the potential of modifying the hours of
on-street parking restriction during street sweeping hours on Green
Valley Avenue from 6:00 A.M. to Noon to 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. At that
meeting, a f. inal conclusion to the Green Valley parking restriction could
not be reached and City Council directed staff to restudy the city-wide
program for parking restrictions during street sweeping hours as well as
the Green Valley Avenue concern.
Staff has not completed its city-wide study as of this date, but it is
-~nticipated that this evaluation will be completed for the November 20th
[ty Council meeting. Following are the alternatives that are being
~valuated and are scheduled for presentation-at that meeting:
I ·

frames, one which would be the 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. hours
requested by the residents of Green Valley Avenue.
·
Restrictions applied city-wide to one side of the street only
for day one and the opposite side of the street only for day
two.
3. Removal of all restrictions pertaining to street sweeping
city-wide.
