STATUS REPORT REGARDING MAGNOLIA TREE PARK
_
RECOMMENDATION:
Receive and file·
BACKGROUND:
The Peppertree Homeowner's Association met the week of October 23
in response to the shooting at Magnolia Tree Park. Community
Services officer Steve Lewis of the Police Department attended the
meeting.
Mr. Lewis has reported that Todd Ferguson, President of the
Homeowner's Association, will contact various City departments by
letter requesting solutions to their concerns. Only two issues
concerned the park:
·
The homeowners desire improved security lighting,
especially behind the tennis courts. They're interested
in having directed light that shines into the park and
not into the homes.
2. The homeowners agreed that they did not wish to change
the curfew; the neighbors use the park extensively, so
they want the Police Department to eDforce the current
10:00 p.m. curfew.
Staff has been in contact with the Fergusons and has suggested that
they contact us directly, in order that together we could present
solutions to the City .Council. .Staff anticipates a scheduled
meeting in the near future.
