HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 9 PROJECT 700032 11-20-89TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR RECREATIONAL VEHICLE STORAGE LOT, LAURELWOOD HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION (PROJECT #700032)~ RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustin City Council at their meeting of November 20, 1989 adopt the ~ttached resolution approving plans and specifications for subject project and directing the the City Clerk to advertise for bids. BACKGROUND: In conjunction with the construction of the Tustin Ranch Road/I-5 interchange, it was necessary to acquire right-of-way from the Laurelwood Homeowners Association over a parcel of land that they were usin~ as a recreational vehicle storage lot. By a land trade with The Irvine Company, Laurelwood received a portion of an old Atchison, Topeka and - Santa Fe Railroad right-of-way to use a replacement storage lot and the City of Tustin received right-of-way needed for the interchange. The subject project, funded by Assessment Districts No. 85-1 and No. 86-2, will improve the replacement recreational vehicle storage lot to City ,and Laurelwood standards. Prior to award of the project, the City of Tustin will receive a right of entry to enter onto the property to complete the work. The engineer's estimate for this project is $90,000. This project will have no financial impact on the City General Fund. A tentative schedule for the project is: Authorization to advertise for bid~ .......... !1-20-89 First legal advertisement .................... 11-30-89 Second legal advertisement ................... 12-07-89 Open bids .................................... 12-18-89 Award contract ................... 1-02-90 commence construction .::::.. ::::...::::... 1-22-90 Complete construction 2-21-90 Bob Ledendecker Director of Public Works/City Engineer Attach. 1 5 6 ? 9 10 11 12 13 15 16 19 20 21 25 26 2~ RESOLUTION NO. 89-174 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PARCEL MAP 88-350, RECREATIONAL VEHICLE STORAGE LOT SOUTH OF I-5 AND WEST OF TUSTIN RANCH ROAD AT THE TERMINUS OF RAINTREE ROAD WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Tustin, California, to contract for construction of a recreational vehicle storage lot; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has .presented plans and specifications for the construction of said work; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby approved as the plans and specifications for: Construction of Parcel M~p 88-350 Recreational Vehicle Storage Lot BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City · Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project was determined to be categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act by City Council Resolution No. 89-9 passed on January 16, 1989.
