AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, RELATING TO COUNCIL REORGANIZATION
The City Council of the City of Tustin dues hereby ordain as
follows:
6 I. The City Council finds and determines as follows:

A. The City Council shall reorganize by selecting one of its
members as Mayor and another of its members as Mayor Pro
Tempore approximately every nine months and two weeks
commencing ·
B. No person shall be appointed Mayor unless he or she held
the position of Mayor Pro Tempore immediately preceding
such appointment.
C. Persons shall be appointed as Mayor Pro Tempore by lot.
D. When a Council reorganization is required by State
statute, the persons then serving as Mayor and Mayor Pro
T. empore, if eligible, shall be reappointed for the balance
of time remaining, if any, in those positions.

E. By affirmative vote of not less than four members of the
Council, the provisions of this Ordinance may be
suspended, and any member of the Council may be appointed
to the position of Mayor or Mayor Pro Tempore for a fixed
or indeterminate term or terms.
18 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Tustin City Council
held on the day of , 1989.
