At the last meeting of the Council a.member of the public told
the Council that he felt it would be desirable that all agenda
items considered and acted on by the Council first have a notice
given to the public that such item would be considered and/or acted
upon by the Council.
The date, time and place of all regular City Council meetings
are prescribed by the Tustin City Code. In accordance with law,
agendas are prepared, distributed to the Councilmembers, staff
members, newspapers and the general public by one copy being made
available in the Tustin Police Department an~ the other being made
available in the Tustin Public Library, all of these being made
available not less than seventy-two (?2) hours before each meeting.
The agenda sets forth each item to be considered by the Council.
Matters concerning zoning and planning which are to be the
subject of public hearings before the Council are, pursuant ~o
State law, noticed by publication, posting and/or mailing of notice
to all persons within prescribed distances of the subject
pro~erties.
Certain other public hearings are noticed by newspaper
Dubl±cation pursuant to applicable statutes.
Newspapers are free to publish council agendas if they see
fit, but there is no legal requiremen%~_%.~r~publ~shing agendas or
for mailing copies of agendas~ ~~
