CIVIC CENTER EXPANSION/RENOVATION - STORAGE FOR CABLE
COMPANY EQUIPMENT
RECOMMENDATION
Receive and file.
BACKGROUND
At the November'6, 1989 meeting Councilman Prescott requgsted that
staff evaluate the feasibility of a permanent storage room in the
Civic Center Expansion/Renovation Program for cable company
.equipment. Staff' and the project architect are in the process of
evaluating existing working drawings in 9rogress to defermine if
such an area can be accommodated. The architect will also be
'meeting with both local cable companies in the near future to
determine .their future needs including permanent electrical
conduit. To ensure.that we deal with cable company related issues
comprehensively staff would like to defer any final recommendation
until we have had an opportunity to meet with each company,
determine their needs and the financial implications of any
facility alteration including review of the City's cable ordinance
and franchise for possible cable company financial assistance for
accommodation of their equipment.
Staff would anticipate returning with a full report on this matter
within 60 to 90 days.
