HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 3 AD 86-2 06-20-88AGENDA_, ~,~ DATE: JUNE 14, 1988 6-20-88 Corn ADOPTED R~O~UTiON. ~ TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER FROM: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR MANUFACTURE AND DELIVERY OF REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE, AD 86-2 RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council adopt a resolution approving plans and specifications and authorizing advertisement for bids for the manufacture and delivery of reinforced concrete pipe, Assessment District 86-2. BACKGROUND: Because eight weeks' lead time is required for manufacture and delivery of reinforced concrete pipe following placement of an order, it is again proposed that the City advertise and award a contract for furnishing the pipe which will be used for storm drain construction throughout the area comprising Assessment District 86-2. The public hearing for the formation of the Assessment District is scheduled for the City Council meeting of July 18, 1988. Over 37,000 lineal feet of pipe will be supplied under this contract for which the estimated cost is $3,445,553. The project will be funded with Assessment District 86-2 bond monies and will provide storm drain pipe for Jamboree Road, Tustin Ranch Road, Irvine Boulevard, La Colina Drive, Portola Parkway and the Lower Peter's Canyon Retarding Basin.
