AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS -DONOR RECOGNITION/FOUNDERS' WALL AND
DEDICATION PLAQUES, TUSI~IN A~EA SENIOR CENTER ff
,,
RECOMMENDATION'
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of August 1, 1988, approve the
attached specifications for the purchase of two (2) bronze cast plaques for the
Tustin Area Senior Center and authorize staff to advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND:
As Council recalls the Senior Center Construction was partially, funded by private
· and business donations. Donors making gifts of $1,000 or more were promised
permanent recognition. The Founders' Wall was established to recognize those who
contributed towards making the Center construction possible.
The dedication plaque usually commemorates a building's dedication and recognizes
those responsible for the building's construction. Tentatively the dedication is
set for sometime in early Spring i989. Those listed on the dedication plaque
include members of the]City Council, Tustin Area Senior Center Fund, Inc. Board of
Directors,-Senior Cente' Steering Committee and the consultants.
Estimated cost for design, fabrication,, and installation of the two (2) plaques is
between $8,000 and $12,000..
