TO:
WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
~0~: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION
SUBJECT: CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR JAMBOREE ROAD CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council at their meeting of September 6, 1988
authorize the execution of a consultant agreement with Hunsaker and
Associates for the construction surveying services along Jamboree Road
between Tustin Ranch Road and Chapman Avenue, subject to final approval
by the City Attorney's office.
BACKGROUND:
Infrastructure improvements along Jamboree Road (Tustin Ranch Road to
Chapman) are all included within the Assessment District No. 86-2. As
a part of the project all design and construction engineering/surveying
services are eligible for funding by the Assessment District.
Hunsaker and Associates were the design engineers for the project and
had previously entered into a contract with The Irvine Company for the
design engineering services on Jamboree Road.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed consultant agreement will cover all construction surveying
for the above-mentioned Jamboree Road project. The estimated cost for
these services is $175,000, which will be funded by Assessment District
No. 86-2. The subject agreement has not yet been finalized by Staff,
but it will be prepared in the usual standard format that has been
utilized by the City and reviewed by the City Attorney's office prior to
execution.
It is anticipated that the City will require the consultant services on
or about September 6, 1988. Therefore, it is re. quested that the City
Council authorize the Mayor to execute the above-described consultant
agreement subject to final approval of the City Attorney's office. This
action will allow the grading operations on Jamboree Road to commence
during the week of September 12, 1988.
