I TO: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER ~0~: PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION SUBJECT: CONSULTANT AGREEMENT FOR JAMBOREE ROAD CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustin City Council at their meeting of September 6, 1988 authorize the execution of a consultant agreement with Hunsaker and Associates for the construction surveying services along Jamboree Road between Tustin Ranch Road and Chapman Avenue, subject to final approval by the City Attorney's office. BACKGROUND: Infrastructure improvements along Jamboree Road (Tustin Ranch Road to Chapman) are all included within the Assessment District No. 86-2. As a part of the project all design and construction engineering/surveying services are eligible for funding by the Assessment District. Hunsaker and Associates were the design engineers for the project and had previously entered into a contract with The Irvine Company for the design engineering services on Jamboree Road. DISCUSSION: The proposed consultant agreement will cover all construction surveying for the above-mentioned Jamboree Road project. The estimated cost for these services is $175,000, which will be funded by Assessment District No. 86-2. The subject agreement has not yet been finalized by Staff, but it will be prepared in the usual standard format that has been utilized by the City and reviewed by the City Attorney's office prior to execution. It is anticipated that the City will require the consultant services on or about September 6, 1988. Therefore, it is re. quested that the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the above-described consultant agreement subject to final approval of the City Attorney's office. This action will allow the grading operations on Jamboree Road to commence during the week of September 12, 1988. Bob Ledendecker Director of Public Works/City Engineer BL:mv
