AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS - ARROYO AVENUE WATER MAIN
REPLACEMENT (FILE #2888)

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of
September 6, 1988 adopt the attached resolution approving the plans and
specifications for subject project and directing the City Clerk to
advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND:
This project encompasses replacement of deteriorated water mains on
Arroyo Avenue between Skyline and La Loma in the unincorporated
territory of Orange County.
There is presently $230,000 allocated in the Fiscal Year 1988-89 budget
for the above-mentioned locations. Below is the tentative schedule for
this project:
Authorization to advertise for bids ................. 9-06-88
First legal advertisement ........................... 9-15-88
Second legal advertisement .......................... 9-22-88
Bid opening ......................................... 9-27-88
Award contract ..................................... 10-03-88
Begin construction ................................. 10-24-88
Complete construction (45 working days) ............ 12-30-88

RESOLUTION NO. 88-99
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS FOR cONSTRUCTION OF ARROYO AVENUE
WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT BETWEEN SKYLINE AND LA LOMA
WHEREAS it is the intention of the City Council of the
8 City of Tustin, California to contract construction of Arroyo
Avenue Water Main Replacement Between Skyline and La Loma- and

WHEREAS, the City Engineer has presented plans and
specifications for the construction of said work;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and
specifications presented by the City Engineer be and are hereby
approved as the plans and specifications for:

Construction~of Arroyo Avenue Water Main
Replacement Between Skyline and La Loma
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby
authorized and directed to advertise as required by law for the
receipt of sealed bids or proposals for the doing of the work
specified in the aforesaid plans and specifications;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this project is
categorically exempt from the requirements of the California
Environmental Quality Act; Class I: Existing Facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Tustin, held on the day of
