SUBJECT: AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS ON ARROYO AVENUE,
PROJECT NO. 600066
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council award the contract for subject
project to RLT Construction, Inc., in the amount of $112,545.00.
BACKGROUND:
On September 6, 1988, the City Council approved plans and
specifications and authorized the advertisement for bids for the
subject project.
DISCUSSION-.
Sealed bids for this work were opened on September 27, 1988 at 10:00
k.M. and were received as follows:

Loant Construction, Buena Park
Ruiz Engineering, Long Beach

The low bid is $112,545.00, or about 29% below the Engineer's estimate
of $156,000. There is presently $230,000. allocated in the FY 1988-89
