September 17, 1962
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor pro ~em Sheridan
Present: Sheridan, Humeaton, Mack, Klingeihofer

MINUTES AP_ Klingelhofer that Minutes of September 4th regular
PROVED meeting be approved as mailed and received. Carried.
Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman
SANTOS J. CARRUBA Klingelhofer that Police Chief be authorized to
HIRED AT $420 hire Santos J. Carruba as patrolman on a
AFTER 10-1-62 per month, and to serve at the pleasure of ths~
C~uncil. Effective at the discretion of Chief
Sissel after October l, 1962.

PERMISSION FOR Carnival requesting permission ~o hold carnival
CARNIVAL AT at Larwin Square September 19th through September
LARWIN SQUARE 22nd, read by clerk.
Chief Sissel voiced'disapproval of any carnival
in the city due to extra expense.
Mr. Ed Sanders, promotion director for Larwin
DISCUSSION Square, spoke for said carnival and Mr. Alivy
presented letter of commendation from the City
of Lakewood regarding Kimsley Carnival and agreed
to fingerprinting etc. of all carnival employees.

KIMSLEY CARNIVAL Councilman Mack that permission be granted Kimsley
GIVEN PERMISSION Carnival ~o operate at Larwin Square September 19th
TO OPERATE FROM through September 22nd, subject tO final approval of
9-19 TO 9-22-62 committee consisting of Mayor pro temp, Police Chief
and Fire Chief. Motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE Moved by Councilman Mack, seconded by Councilman
RECEIVED & FILED Humeston that correspondence be received and filed.

Klingelhofer that Ordinance No. 182, amending
ORDINANCE N0. Ordinances Nos. 157 and 175 pertaining ~o the
182 HAVE SECOND permittin~ of any use permitted in any '~R~ District
READING BY in any ~C District, upon obtaining a conditional
TITLE ONLY Use Permit; have second reading by title only.
Carried unanimously.
ADOPTION OF Moved by Councilman Klingelhofer, seconded by

Mr. VerBerg from the North Tustin Area spoke
DISCUSSION. RE stating desire to be part of Tustin City an~
ANNEX. PROCEED_ asking how area Northof Seventeenth Street
INGS FOR AREA could initiate proceedings to annex and if the
N. OF 17 ST. City wanted them. Others speaking in favor of
annexing to the City were~Mrs. H.~udspeth, Mr~
Bob Windolph, Mrs. VerBerg.
Mayor pro tem Shsridan and council members
assured them that the City WoUld be glad to
have them and explained some of the preliminary
steps necessary.
Moved by Councilman Mack, Seconded by Councilman
RESOLUTION NO. Klin elhofer that Resolution No. 616, authorizing
616, READ BY the ~tate of California to apply-for closure of
TITLE ONLY ~ railroad crossing of Newport Avenue, be read by
title only. Carried unanimously.
ADOPTION OF i~Moved by Councilman Klingelhofer, seconded by
RESOL. NO.616 Councilman Mack that Resolution No. 616 be passed
RE RR CROSSING and adopted. Carried by roll call, all members
ON NEWPORT AVE, present voting Aye.

Mr. William Gallienne, representing Chamber of Commerce,
DISCUSSION requested permission for Tustin Tiller Days parade to be
ABOUT TUSTIN held along the same raute as last year. Permissionlto
TILLER DAYS have street perrants hung advertising Tiller Days and
clearance for closing of Main Street from "D" to Prospect
for booths and Street Dance.
