RECOHMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Counctl adopt Resolution No. 88-118~
recommending to the Orange County Transportation Commission that meetings be
scheduled in the evening and authorize the subject resolution to be forwarded to
said Commission.
BACKGROUND
, .,
Councilman Prescott recently voiced concern regarding the present meeting time
of the Orange County Transportation Commission. The meeting time is during the'
daytime hou¢s which makes it difficult for local officials, business persons,
and citizens of the community to participate. As the Council i-s aware, there
are major traffic related projects currently being reviewed by the
Transportation Commission which impact the City of Tusti. n.
It would be a great benefit to the County of Orange and the City of Tustin to
make the opportunity available for as many interested and concerned parties to
participate in public hearings before the Transportation Commission. Scheduling
evening meetings of the Commission is one way to provide this opportunity.
The attached resolution encourages the Orange County Transportation Commission
to schedule meetings in the evening hours to encourage greater participation in
the public review process by making it more convenient for individuals to attend
their meetings.
