AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF VEHICLES
R ECOM MEN DATION:
Request the Tustin City Council at their regular meeting of December 5,1988, authorize
the purchase of vehicles from Fuller Ford, Chula Vista, California, and Sunset Ford,
Westminster, California, in the amount of $133,400.33.
BACKGROUND:
The 1988-89 budget provided for, among other things, $46,600.00 in capital
expenditures for the addition of three new vehicles and $105,600.00 for the
replacement of eight existing vehicles from the City's Vehicle Lease Fund.
On October 3, 1988, City Council authorized staff to solicit bids on vehicles and other
select pieces of work equipment.
On November 3, 1988, Field Services invited bids from twenty seven dealers for eleven
vehicles consisting of sedans, small pick ups, small pick ups with utility beds and utility
wagons. A public notice inviting bids was published in the Tustin News on November 4th
and 10th, 1988.
Sealed bids were received on November 23, until 10:00 A. M. in the office of the City
Clerk.
Bids were received from four bidders in the amounts shown on the attached exhibit.
