SUBJECT: SUltRY VACATION OF A PORTION OF PARKCENTER LANE AT TIlE SOUTH SIDE OF
EL CAMINO REAL
RECOMMENDATION:
For the City Council meeting of May 18, 1987. It is recommended that the City
Council adopt a resolution summarily vacating a portion of Parkcenter Lane at
the south side of E1 Camino Real.
BACKGROUND'
The area to be vacated is at the entrance of the private street running south of
E1 Camino Real. The area to be vacated is the median which will be maintained
by the homeowner's association for this development. The Irvine Company wants
to install a monument sign in the median denoting the name of the residential
project, and they have requested the vacation.
The dedication on the tract map was carried south an extra 34'+ to accommodate
City catch basins serving E1 Camino Real. They are outside--the area to be
vacated.
Under certain conditions such as these, a summary vacation procedure can be
used. A public hearing, pubication and notice are not required. The adopted
resolution should be sent to the County Recorder, and the vacation is effective
upon recordation.
