HUSTOII, CZTY PIANAGER C ZTY BROCHURE ,/ Councilman Prescott requested that this item be placed on the agenda. The 1987-88 budget includes $25,000 for City promotional activities. During this year's budget workshops, the City Council had discussed the need to formulate a program aimed at promoting the City. To date, a specific program {slide show, video, brochure, etc.) has not been formulated. Staff needs direction concerning what emphasis the City Council wants to place on this program (brochure vs. slide show, etc.) and authorization to solicit proposals from professional firms. The cost of a brochure will depend upon the quality and quantity to be printed. Depending upon these factors, there may not be sufficient funds to develop another component of a promotional program, such as a slide show or video promotional. However, t-he City Council could appropriate additional funds if necessary. Staff would suggest that when a firm is retained, the promotional program be further defined through interviews with the City Council. William A. Huston City Manager
