STATUS OF COLUMBUS TUSTIN.. PARK PHASE 2
On October [9, the Tusttn City Council approved a Design Development Report for
Columbus Tusttn Park which would complete the park (Phase 2). This particular
concept, "Site Plan A", includes a gymnasium, additional parking, and open space
for picnics.
The Design Development Report, dated December 1982, was developed by*a task force
of local citizens with assistance from a park-design consultant and City staff.
At its October 19 meeting, the Council directed staff to reconvene this task
force. The McCalla lease hold now ts available to the City. The design and
placement of the gymnasium on the site could be changed; therefore, the consultant
and the cOmmittee may wish to rework the site plan.
The Columbus Tusttn Task Force will meet with the consultant on Monday, November
30, 7:00 p.m., at the Tusttn Library Conference Room. 'At this time th~ committee
will review the site plan with the consultant, given the constraint that the City
Council has instructed the committee that the remaining area of the park be
developed as a gymnasium, parking lot, and open space. Interested citizens who
may wish to attend this meeting have been invited via press releases in the local
papers.
The consultant has volunteered his time for this initial meeting. Once the
committee has determined an exact scope of work, the consultant will submit an
estimate.
